I chose the word 'caring' to describe Timothy from the novel, The Cay. I chose this word because of what he said to Phillip on the raft. He said, "Put your 'ead back downg, young bahss, an' rest awhile longer. Do not look direct at d'sun. 'Tis too powerful."
I agree with Sam's comment about Timothy being 'accepting.' He shows this when he said"..but I true tink beneath d'skin is all d'same."
we chose the word tough for spence because he is in the paratroopers and because he trained hard at camp. for deiter we chose the word overly ambiosious because he thinks that the war will be all fun , he doesnt grasp the fact people die in war. posted by soldier boys book club 6'

ReplyDeletesoldiers boys is one of my most favorite books...so far becuase i havent finished it yet...but its one of th e coolest boosk ever. i like soence the most for some reason, becase i think hes just like me for some reason. dieter is like my brother because hes tough and yells alot. ReplyDeleteI think Dieter is loyal to his country. He is willing to give up his life to fight for his country. He wants to be a hero, he's also not afraid to die for his country. When Schaefer is telling him how evil Hitler really is, he tried to kill him.

ReplyDeleteSpence is very Brave because he told his Dad that he wanted to go to the War because he wanted to try to fight for his Country but then he realizd that War was harder than he thought and than some of his Friends end up getting killed by the enemy the Germans.I like the book ALOT GO SOLDIER BOYS!

ReplyDeletei just want to point out that soldier boys is the best book in the world!!!! i would describe spence as brave and courageous because he's not afraid to go when it will get tough and he tries to save these wounded people like dieter and ted. i'd say dieter would be bold because he's tough and does what he's told like a real sargeant would peace out! :) p.s. cody how do you think theyre cool?
ReplyDeleteI say the narrator is telling the story because he says Pappas told Spence it's not like Pappas told me. Then, it's 3rd person limited point of view because you only know Spence and Dieter's thoughts not anyone else's.(they are also the main characters) i like this ( +[___]::) PSP!

Soldier Boys what a great book i finished it and said Dean Hughes should make the same kind of book but instead for Knight (1100) or modern warfare(2010)
